How We Rate Law Firms at Find A Lawyer
At Find A Lawyer, we believe transparency and fairness are essential when helping you choose the right legal team. That's why we've built a simple, data-driven scoring system to rate every firm in our network.
What Goes Into the Score?
Each law firm is given a score out of 100 based on publicly available data and key indicators of trust, experience, and credibility. Here’s how it works:
Identity & Credibility
- ✅ Member of NZ Law
- 🌐 Has a website`
- 🖼️ Displays a firm logo
- 💼 LinkedIn presence
Team Experience & Size
- 👨⚖️ Number of lawyers
- 👩⚖️ Number of partners
- 🕰️ Average years of experience
Google Reviews & Office Presence
- 📍 Verified office location
- ⭐ Google rating
- 🗳️ Review count
Why Do We Score Law Firms?
Our goal is to level the playing field—making it easier for people to compare firms based on meaningful, unbiased indicators. We don’t charge for higher scores, and firms can’t pay to be ranked higher. This keeps things fair and ensures that the best-rated firms are truly the ones making a real impact.
What Does the Score Mean?
Scores typically range from 10 to 35. A higher score means:
- More experience
- Stronger presence
- More trust from the public
It’s not the only factor you should consider—but it’s a strong starting point.
Constantly Improving
We’re always reviewing our scoring system. If you’re a law firm and notice something missing or incorrect, let us know.
