We engaged them on recommendation to handle the purchase and settlement of our property expecting thorough due diligence and sound legal advice. Unfortunately important matters were not identified or brought to our attention before settlement. Had they been we would not have purchased the property. This has resulted in significant financial consequences for us. Approximately 18 months later a dispute arose with our builder. We were very concerned when DK Legal then chose to represent the builder in that dispute despite the fact that we were their client. This raised serious concerns for us around professional obligations confidentiality and a conflict of interest. Overall we feel let down by the level of care advice and representation we received. In a small community like Hawkes Bay trust and professional relationships matter which made our experience particularly disappointing. We encourage prospective clients to ask detailed questions about due diligence and potential conflicts before engaging the firm.
