Tiffany Cooper KC is a leading criminal barrister who was appointed King's Counsel in 2022. She specialises in high-profile criminal cases with particular expertise in sexual offending, drug offending and homicide matters. Cooper conducts long and complex criminal trials throughout New Zealand in both the High Court and District Court, and handles appeals against conviction or sentence in the Court of Appeal.
With extensive experience as lead counsel in hundreds of jury trials and dozens of Court of Appeal appearances, Cooper brings significant expertise to criminal defence work. She has also contributed to legal education by teaching advocacy at the Australian Bar Association Advanced Trial Advocacy Intensive in Brisbane and in New Zealand.
The chambers also includes Katie, a dedicated advocate admitted to the bar in 2024 who graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts. Katie has worked on a variety of cases ranging from traffic offences to serious drug charges, violence, sexual violence, and conviction and sentence appeals. Her dissertation focused on a trauma-informed approach to criminal justice in New Zealand, knowledge she applies in her everyday practice.
